Hutley & Humm were given creative freedom to reimagine this family home rich with childhood memories. The result is a bold, characterful transformation across three floors and a house that feels both indulgent and deeply practical, balancing vibrant colour and pattern with functionality for modern family life.

At the heart of the scheme are a series of hero spaces: the light-filled drawing room with emerald and aubergine tones, and the adjoining octagonal cocktail bar, which is a joyful, jewel-box of burgundy gloss joinery, yellow accents and brass bamboo lighting. The kitchen and dining room were designed for flexibility, with extendable furniture, open shelving and carefully layered lighting, while the snug combines deep green joinery with playful raspberry details and a sliding-door TV nook, creating a relaxed family retreat.

Upstairs, the master bedroom offers a sanctuary of calm with textured wallpaper and a dramatic curtained bedhead, while the children’s rooms each have their own identity, designed to grow with them into their teenage years. A converted eaves space with geometric wallpaper and a vast upholstered mattress provides the ultimate hideaway for movie nights and sleepovers. Together, these spaces capture Hutley & Humm’s signature approach – rich in colour and personality, yet rooted in comfort and purpose for the way their clients live.
